Privacy
RUE studio collects as little as possible. There is no analytics software on this site, no advertising networks, no social media scripts. What does come up is set out here — in full, and without varnish.

What we collect, and what we don’t
Who is responsible
The person named in the imprint is the controller for personal data processed on ruestudio.ch.
For any privacy question, or to request access, correction or deletion, an informal message to info@ruestudio.ch is enough. No form, no justification needed.
The principle
We collect data only where it is needed for something you started yourself — sending an enquiry, leaving a voice message, switching language. Nothing is collected “just in case”, and nothing is collected for marketing.
We do not sell data, do not trade data, and pass nothing to advertising networks. That is not a promise about the future but a description of the present: there is simply nothing built in that could do it.
What a plain visit produces
Like any web server, our host logs requests. These server logs typically contain:
- the IP address of the requesting device
- the date and time of the request
- the address requested and the HTTP status code
- the browser and operating system identifier sent along
- the previously visited page, if your browser sends it
The purpose is running the site and keeping it secure — finding errors, noticing outages, spotting attacks. We do not analyse these logs to measure visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 31(1) FADP; Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention follows our host’s default and is short; we keep no copies of our own.
Cookies
This site sets exactly one cookie:
- “fw-locale” — remembers whether you read the site in German or English. Lifetime one year. Nothing in it identifies a person; it contains only “de” or “en”.
That is a strictly necessary cookie for a function you triggered yourself. It needs no consent, which is why there is no cookie banner here. There are no tracking, advertising or statistics cookies.
Fonts and embedded content
The fonts on this site sit on our own server. They are downloaded once when the site is built and served by us thereafter. Your browser therefore never contacts Google Fonts or any other font service, and no IP address is transmitted there.
No maps, videos, social media buttons or other third-party content are embedded. The Instagram and LinkedIn references in the menu are ordinary links: nothing happens until you click them.
When you write to us
Through the contact form you send us your name, your email address and your message; company and phone number are optional. These details are delivered as an email to our mailbox and handled there.
The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a contractual relationship, or your request for contact (Art. 31(2) FADP; Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep correspondence as long as the matter requires, and thereafter for as long as Swiss commercial law requires business correspondence to be retained.
The form contains a small sum to solve and a field invisible to humans. Both exist solely to deter automated submissions; no behavioural analysis takes place and nothing is transmitted to a third party.
Voice messages
On the contact page you can record something for us. Because a voice recording reveals more about a person than a form field does, it follows its own rules, and we set them out here at greater length.
What gets stored: the recording itself, its length, a loudness curve used to draw the waveform, the time, and the name you volunteer. You may leave the name field empty; the recording then runs as “Anonymous”.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 31 FADP). You give it explicitly by ticking the box before sending, not merely by recording. Until you send, nothing leaves your device.
How we handle the recording:
- It is NOT public immediately after sending. It waits until we have listened to it and cleared it.
- It does not sit in open storage. There is no address at which it could be fetched without going through our site — not even after clearing.
- We do not have it transcribed, do not analyse it automatically, and do not use it to train software.
- We do not pass it on and do not publish it anywhere else.
You can delete it at any time without asking us: immediately after sending you receive a link that removes precisely your recording. Keep it — we cannot send it again, because we hold no address for you. The link still works after the recording has been cleared.
What is deleted is genuinely gone: the file is removed from storage, not merely hidden. There is no wastebasket, no backup copy, and no public address that lives on. If you have lost the link, write to info@ruestudio.ch describing the recording and we will delete it by hand.
Please record only yourself: if another person is audible, you need their agreement. Recordings that expose third parties, are abusive, or plainly do not belong here will not be cleared, and will be deleted.
Who else receives data
We pass personal data to no one, except the following providers, who process it on our behalf and on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc. (USA) — running the site: delivery, server functions, storage of voice messages, and server logs. Processing takes place under a data processing agreement incorporating standard contractual clauses. This involves a transfer to the United States.
- Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland) — email and domain management. Messages from the contact form are sent and received through this provider. The servers are located in Switzerland.
Nothing goes further. No analytics services, no advertising networks, no newsletter platform, no CRM and no payment providers receive data from this site.
Beyond that, we disclose data only where we are legally obliged to, or where an authority or court lawfully orders it.
Artificial intelligence
This site was built using AI-assisted development tools. That concerns how the code and the copy came about — it is a transparency note, not a processing of your data.
No artificial intelligence runs on the site itself. Concretely: your enquiries and your voice messages are not sent to any AI system, not automatically transcribed, not analysed, not scored, and not used to train models — neither by us nor by a third party.
Should that ever change, it will say so here first, and for anything beyond running the site we will ask for your consent beforehand.
No automated decisions
No profiling takes place and no decisions about you are made automatically. We build no usage profiles, sort you into no audiences, and do not measure your behaviour on this site.
How long we keep things
- Server logs: briefly, per our host’s default
- Form enquiries: while the matter is live, then within the retention period for business correspondence
- Voice messages: until you or we delete them — uncleared recordings are cleared out regularly
- Language cookie: one year, or until you remove it in your browser
Your rights
You may at any time ask us what data we process about you. You may equally request correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing, and ask for your data in a common format.
Consent you have given — for a voice message, say — can be withdrawn at any time. The lawfulness of what happened until then is unaffected.
A message to info@ruestudio.ch is enough for all of this. We reply as quickly as we can, and the information is free of charge.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain: in Switzerland to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), and within the EU to the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
Security
The site is served exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Voice recordings sit in non-public storage and are delivered only through our own checking endpoint. The links for clearing and deleting are individually signed and each valid for exactly one purpose and one recording.
Listening to a recording that has not been cleared yet, or clearing it, additionally requires a password. A link alone is not enough — addresses end up in browser history, in screenshots and in sync between devices, and are too easy to lose to serve as the only secret.
Your own deletion link is deliberately NOT password protected: it is your right to your own recording, you have no password from us and should not need one. It deletes your recording and nothing else.
Nobody can promise complete protection. We keep the software we use current, and collect so little in the first place that there is little to take in the worst case.
Changes
When what the site does changes, we change this text with it. The date above shows the current state. For material changes to something you consented to, we ask again.
